Selene Murillo Tovar was born in 1983 on Mexico City. She studied a Bachelors Degree in Visual and Plastic Arts in the National School of Sculpture, Painting and Engraving “La Esmeralda”. Since her
graduation in 2008 she has specialized in drawing and painting techniques among which stand scientific illustration, photorealism in dry techniques and design and tattoo techniques. She has been selected and awarded in competition nationwide, like Arte Joven on 2009 and 2010. She was granted an honorary mention in the fourth biennial of drawing Sylvia Pawa on 2009. She has seven individual exhibitions and more than twenty collective exhibitions so far on Mexico City, Queretaro, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Monterrey and Playa del Carmen among other cities. Her work has been published in several magazines, newspapers and reviews such as El Sol de Mexico and El Diario de Quintana Roo and Proceso, Tinta Selecta and Tepantlatp magazines as well as the fanzine El Libro del Ruido, that was presented at the art museum Carrillo Hill. She has also participated in radio shows like Palabras Malditas and La hora Dada among others. She also has experience participating in the production and development of scenic painting. At present continues to develop various projects at the same time as her artistic production.
